New adult learning classes for September/October 2019

Food Safety: Friday 20 September, 9.15am – 4.00pm – This is a level 2 course designed to equip anyone working or planning to work in the service industry with an industry standard qualification in food hygiene and handling. It is an intense one day course with a multiple choice test at the end of the day. the course is £10 unwaged or £50 waged. Book now…

Paediatric First Aid: Saturday 28 September 9.00am-4.30pm – This is a two day course. One day in the classroom and one day online, working from home or the library. The online element has to be successfully completed before the day in the classroom. It is designed for anyone who works with children in a paid or voluntary capacity. It is a level 3 course qualification awarded by ProTraining and meets the Ofsted requirements for Childminders and all other childcare workers. There is just one rate for this course, it costs £35. It is essential to bring photo ID on the day – your passport, driving licence etc. There is a short multiple choice test at the end. Book now..

Emergency First Aid: Friday 27 September 9.15am ‐ 4.15pm
This is a one-day level 3 course. The qualification covers the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident; first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED; providing first aid to a casualty who is choking; and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock. This is a certificated course and the awarding body is TQUK. The cost is £10 unwaged or £50 waged. Safeguarding of Children and Young People: Friday 11 October 9.30am (prompt) ‐ 3.15pm. This course is designed and delivered at Level 2 to give everyone who works with, or has contact with children, young people and/or their families an introduction to
safeguarding children and young people. Those attending will gain knowledge and awareness about: legislation and guidance; the recognition of child abuse; identifying the barriers to children and adults reporting concerns; know how to respond and report concerns; who to contact when there is a concern; fulfilling ‘duty of care’; safe practice and keeping children and young people safe.
