Help Give Kevin Clarke the Funeral He Deserves

A mum, who regularly attends classes at Besson Street Community Garden, lost her first born child, four siblings lost their fun loving brother and Kevin Clarke lost his life on March 09, 2018. Kevin was just 35 years old when he died while being restrained by 9 police officers just before teatime on a residential street in Catford. A disproportionate number of young black men die while being restrained by the police as do a disproportionate number of young men suffering mental illness. There is an inquest into Kevin’s death which is likely to take many months but the family and community around them feel it is essential to get to the bottom of what happened, why Kevin was being restrained by police when what he needed was medical care from trained mental health specialists. Kevin was a caring, loving person, who passionately enjoyed football and football coaching, he was a team-player and he loved being part of something bigger than himself. Kevin’s family need your support, they are having to crowdfund for the funeral costs. Please make a donation, however small every penny will count towards giving Kevin the funeral he deserves. https://chuffed.org/project/give-kc-the-funeral-he-deserves
